James W. Dennis, Jr.

James W. Dennis, Jr., 89, passed away on May 2, 2023, in his home following a brief illness.

He was born in Marianna, PA. on February 27, 1934, the son of James William and Sarah (Pinkney) Dennis, Sr.

Jim graduated from West Beth High School in Marianna, PA. in 1952. After graduation he moved to Cleveland, Ohio to work for Addressograph-Multigraph, in 1962 he moved to Lenox Township and commuted to work each day; after giving them 30 years of dedicated employment he retired in 1982; he then worked as the Treasurer of the Euclid Machinists Credit Union for 7 years, and finally retired from the Ashtabula Co. Engineers Department after 7 years with them working out of the New Lyme Road Department.

Jim was blessed with being loved by two amazing wives. His first wife, and the mother of his 4 children was Loretta Galanda whom he married on July 27, 1954, she passed away at a very young age on April 9, 1985. He then married Linda Lenart on May 18, 2002, and together they enjoyed their retirement years together until her passing on February 6, 2021.

He had many hobbies and interests; he loved to work on beautifying his yard; he loved to travel to Pennsylvania to visit relatives; he always made time for everyone and anyone who was in need of help, he also loved to share stories. He worked hard to support his family. He was a proud and loving husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle and friend.

He was survived by his children: Jeff (Lori) Dennis, Jim (Rhonda) Dennis, Joe (Lori) Dennis and Laura Palmer; his grandchildren that he absolutely adored: Jenny (Ryan) Koelsch, Melissa (Blake) Harper, Jimmy (Fawn) Dennis, Zach (Heather) Dennis, Joey Dennis, Heather Dennis, Syanne Palmer, Uriah Palmer and Josiah Palmer; 7 great-grandchildren; and his stepson Mike Lenart.

He was preceded by his wives: Loretta and Linda; his stepdaughter Michelle Prine; his sisters Janet Beauchamp and Betty Anderson; and his brother Harold.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday May 6, 2023, at 12:00/noon at Lenox Cemetery on Footville-Richmond Road.
