James A. Bentley, 88, passed away on November 21, 2023, at Ohmen Family Living in Huntsburg, Ohio.
He was born on April 5, 1935, in Los Angeles, California, the son of Harry and Gertrude (Jennings) Bentley.
James graduated from Euclid High School.
On September 21, 1974, he married his beautiful bride, Nancy K. Souers; they recently celebrated their forty-ninth wedding anniversary.
James worked in manufacturing most of his life and dedicated time to be on the Roaming Shores Village Council.
James was an avid NASCAR fan, he enjoyed building race cars and was a dedicated Jeff Gordon fan. He also enjoyed cooking, reading, and singing in the choir at Andover Methodist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy “Sweet Pea”; his beloved daughter, Faye (John) Bates; his grandchildren, Jordan Redmond and Jocelyn Redmond (Matthew Cumberledge); his son-in-law, Matthew Redmond and his brother, John (Pam) Bentley.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Nancy Redmond; his brother, Hank Bentley and his sister, Joann Bentley.
Private burial will take place on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson, Ohio.
