Helen M. Kingston

Helen M. Kingston, 92, of Sheffield Twp. died Wednesday (Jan. 4th) at the Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Austinburg. She was born July 27, 1930 in Kenova, West Virginia, the daughter of William Byron and Bertha (Skeens) Morrison.

She graduated from Ceredo Kenova High School and received her Bachelors of Education at Marshall University. She taught school in the Waverly and Conneaut School Systems and substitute taught in the Ashtabula Area and Buckeye Local School Systems.

She was a member of First Christian Church, Covered Bridge Chapter #591 Order of Eastern Star, and the Ohio Retired Teachers Association. She had been active with the PTA at Bunker Hill Elementary School and the Band Boosters at Ashtabula High School.  She enjoyed bird watching and gardening.

Surviving her are her two children, Nancy (Bill) Amidon and Jim (Donna) Kingston of Ashtabula; five grandchildren, Christen Wood, Kelsey (Michael) Hickox, Brianna Kingston, Jared Kingston and Grant Kingston; and two great grandchildren, Ethan Wood and Lianna Wood, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 2005; two sisters, Ruth Clifford and Alice Grooms; a brother, Clarence Morrison; and several nephews.

Funeral service will be Monday (Jan. 9th) at 1:00 PM at the Fleming & Billman Funeral Home, 526 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula with Rev. Mark Mong of the Trinity Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Ridgeview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday (Jan. 9th) from 11:00 AM to the time of service at the funeral home with Covered Bridge Chapter #591 Order of Eastern Star service at 12:45 PM.
