Hazel M. Ouillette, age 94, residing in Ashtabula with her daughter and longtime Jefferson resident, died Sunday afternoon at the Ashtabula Co. Medical Center.
Hazel loved creating things and she often made the cards and gifts she gave to people. She constantly had three or more projects going at once, which could include anything from wood crafts, to counted cross stitch, to acrylic painting, or a new sewing project. She also enjoyed teaching others how to make different crafts such as her ceramic candy dishes. If she didn't have it then she would find a way to make it! She was an avid reader and book lover. You could often find her at the First Congregational Church of Christ in Jefferson where she was very active with the Church Belle's. She served as past matron of the former Sunshine Chapter #89 OES.
