Harold “Hal” L. Taylor, 94 was called home to be with his Lord on May 18, 2026.
He was born on June 4, 1931 in Youngstown, Ohio. The son of Lewis and Mildred (Frazier) Taylor and he lived most of his life in Ashtabula, Ohio.
He graduated from Andover High School in 1949, he went on to proudly serve his country in the US Army from 1951 to 1953.
Hal worked for Wonder Bread For 10 years and after moving to Ashtabula, he became a radio maintainer for the Conrail Railroad for 30 years before his retirement in 1993. He also had his own TV repair business for many years.
He was a member of the first United Methodist Church in Ashtabula.
At a very young age he started his lifelong hobby as a HAM Radio Operator. Over his career he had talked with someone in every country in the world.
He survived by his wife, Patricia (Buomono) whom he married on May 29, 1965; his children: Cindy (Ron) Kessler, of Conneaut, Skip Taylor of Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Tim (Kathy) Taylor of Tipp City, Ohio, Dr. RaeAnn (Leanna) Taylor of Duquesne, Pennsylvania and Robert Taylor in Southgate, Kentucky; his 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and his sisters: JoAnn (Jim) Murphy and Nancy (Dave) Spencer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Nancy (Roach) Taylor, and his daughter-in-law, Sherry (Folta) Taylor.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Fleming-Billman Funeral Home, 526 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula; Calling hours will be held from 11:00-12:00 with the funeral service starting at 12:00. Entombment will follow in the mausoleums at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville. Military honors will be observed at the cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in Hal's name to Reserve Care Hospice (Hospice of the Western Reserve) ot the American Heart Association; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
