Harold E. Loudermilk, 91, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday afternoon, September 8, 2023.
He was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on June 28, 1932, the son of Ernest and Margaret (Sunbury) Loudermilk.
Harold graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1950 and went to work at Reliance Electric before joining the United States Navy in 1951 and served until 1955. Harold returned to Reliance Electric where he worked until 1973. He married the love of his life, Priscilla McFarland on July 27, 1957, and were married just shy of 60 years before her death. Harold went into business with his father selling tractors, but Ernest went back to work and Harold and Priscilla continued and opened Loudermilk Tractor in 1965. They added Ski Doo in 1969 and Kawasaki Motorcycles in 1973; they were so busy Harold quit Reliance Electric and was at the Loudermilk Tractor and Cycle full time until his retirement in 1996.
Harold was a thirty second degree Mason and member of the Rising Sun Lodge of Ashtabula and of the El Kadir Grotto serving as Monarch in 1994. He enjoyed helping cook countless dinners for Grotto Hall events with his fellow members. Harold loved to golf and enjoyed cheering on the Cleveland Indians and Browns. Harold and Priscilla also loved to travel and have been all over the world. He took great pride in having a beautiful yard and landscaping.
He is survived by his loving children: Mark (Diana) Loudermilk, Terri (Steve) Vincent, Hal (Audrey) Loudermilk and Bret (Diana) Loudermilk; his grandchildren: Matthew, Meredith, Micah, Ryan, Courtney, Brad, Amy and Samantha; his fifteen great-grandchildren; his sister, Evelyn Osborn and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his brothers: James, Donald, William and Robert Loudermilk and his sisters, Elizabeth Petro and Lois Monroe.
The family would like to thank his wonderful aids, Ann Nowak and Carol Purvis who helped take care of him for over a year; we couldn’t have done it without them and for Bella Care Hospice who helped make his last few weeks peaceful.
