Gordon R. Bovee, 95 died Tuesday (May 5th) peacefully at his home in Kingsville. He was born September 22, 1924 in Kingsville, Ohio the son of Hardy and Gertrude (Childs) Bovee and has been a lifetime area resident.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army as an aviation engineer running heavy equipment helping build runways.
He was employed with East Ohio Gas Company for 38 years retiring in 1989.
He was a member of the Kingsville Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed identifying trees and wildflowers; making maple syrup and playing the steel guitar.
Surviving him are his children, David (Karen) Bovee of Georgia, Harold (Brenda) Bovee of Kingsville, Dean Bovee of Sheffield Township; Colleen (Calvin) Lewis of Kingsville; thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doloris in 1997 and a brother, Dorland C. Bovee.
