George “Skip” Albert Korabek II, 76, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2023, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
He was born on October 21, 1946, in Lyndhurst, Ohio; the son of, George A. and Virginia (Clark) Korabek.
After graduating from High School, Skip attended the Ohio State University for two years.
On December 18, 1998, Skip married his lovely bride, Bonnie Jo Loftus; they shared twenty-four years of wonderful marriage together until her passing in June of 2023.
Skip worked for Rockwell Brake for eighteen years, Elkem Metals for many years and SCM Millenium for over twenty-five years.
Skip loved boating and water skiing on Lake Erie and was a member of the Sea Rangers Boat Club. He was a muscle car enthusiast and enjoyed his Pontiac GTO’s. He also enjoyed car shows, drag racing muscle cars and supporting his favorite sports teams; the Cleveland Cavaliers, Browns, Indians and OSU Buckeyes. His true source of joy and happiness was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Skip was “old school”, he believed in beautiful, simple, honest living.
He is survived by his loving children, Gregory Alan Korabek and Jodelle Lee (Cory) Carruthers and his grandchildren: Riley, Jaxon, June and Cory.
He preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bonnie and his half-sister, Geraldine.
In keeping with Skip’s known wishes, there will not be any services held at this time.
