Genevieve K. (Knight) Wallace

ASHTABULA- Genevieve K. Wallace, 101, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, at the Jefferson care center following a Brief illness. 

She was born in Cameron, West Virginia, on August 24, 1924, the daughter of Albert and Sadie (Church) Knight.

Genevieve graduated Cameron high school in 1943 and went onto graduate from put West liberty State College, where she received her bachelor’s degree and became a dental hygienist; a job she thoroughly enjoyed until her retirement in 1985.

On May 10, 1952, in Majorsville, West Virginia, she married Lloyd Wallace, her loving and devoted husband and father of their two children.

She was an Ohio Reads volunteer at Saybrook and Windemere Elementary Schools and she was a member of the Saybrook United Methodist Church and a past member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Genevieve was a proud and loving mother whose life centered around that love that she had for her children.  She was a woman with a strong Christian faith.  She will be missed dearly by many, but God blessed her with a long and truly rewarding life.

She survived by her loving family, her daughter, Jane (Howard) Stewart and her son Jay (Patricia) Wallace; Her grandchildren, Brandon Wallace and Emily (Morgan) Wallace and her great granddaughter Abbi.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Loyd, her parents, her brother Carl Knight and her sister Martha Milliken.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 20 at the Saybrook Methodist Church, 7900 Depot Rd., Ashtabula; calling hours will be held from 11:00-12:00, and her funeral service will begin at 12:00.  A luncheon will be held following the services in her honor at the church fellowship hall.

Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Saybrook Volunteer Fire Department, their care and support for her over the years is something her family will never forget.
