JEFFERSON - Gale F. Otto, Sr., 91, passed away on July 26, 2021 following a long illness. He was born in New Lyme, Ohio on March 13, 1930 the son of Charles and Mae Belle (Hodge) Otto. Gale very proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953. On January 31, 1954 he married Thomasina White. Gale was a truck driver and member of the Teamsters Union. He was a hard worker and a loving and supportive husband, father, brother and friend. He is survived by his loving family; his children: Gale Otto, Jr., Jeff (Laurie) Otto, and Christine Kean; his grandchildren: Heather, Shannon, Jessica, Megan, Joshua, Jordan, Melinda and Michelle; 12 great-grandchildren; his brothers: James Otto and Donald (Susan) Otto and sisters Martha (Greg) Fortney and Patty Skaggs as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Thomasina and his sisters: Dorothy Keel and Della Lane, and his brother Dale Otto Funeral Service will be held on Monday August 2 at the Fleming-Billman Funeral Home. 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula at 12:00; calling hours will be held from 11:00-12:00. Burial with military honors will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
