Frances Marie Cogan of Ashtabula peacefully joined her Heavenly Father on June 6, 2025.
Born on June 23, 1951, she was the beloved daughter of James Sr. and Dorothy Cogan.
A proud graduate of Edgewood High School and Kent State University, Fran was a lifelong member of the United Presbyterian Church of Ashtabula. Her faith was central to her life, and she served her church family in many ways, organizing events and dinners, handling finances, producing newsletters, and singing in the choir. She even sang at special occasions, including the wedding of Amy and Dirk Feiler. Fran worked for CEI and Time Warner Cable, but her true passion was in caring for others. She devoted her life to helping family and friends, lovingly tending to her grandparents, parents, brothers, and many close companions. Her generous spirit and warm heart touched all who knew her. A lover of music and travel, Fran found joy in her trips to Ireland, Scotland, and Wales—first with her mother, and later with her mother, brothers James Jr. and Michael, and her nephew Shawn.
Frances is survived by her loving brother Michael Cogan; her dear friends, including Tarry Petrella of Conneaut and Liz Crawford of Pa; and her aunt, Joy Wilson of Jefferson.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Dorothy Cogan, brother Eric in Infancy and brother James Jr., Cogan and niece and nephew.
At Fran’s request, there will be no funeral services.
