Florence Barnhart, 92, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, April 26, at the Ashtabula County Nursing home. She was born in Toronto, Canada on October 17, 1930 to Charles and Effie Schillaci.
After falling in love with Donald Glenn Sharp, she married and moved to Ashtabula, Ohio in 1952 where they raised their family. Proudly, Florence became a US citizen in 2004. Donald passed in 1978.
Florence was a dedicated employee of Society National Bank. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting and gardening. Her love of knitting and crocheting was shared with the premie hats and blankets she created and donated to UH NICU.
In 1984 she was remarried to David Barnhart. They enjoyed their retirement and spent their winters in Florida. Dave passed in 2013.
Florence is survived by her daughter and husband Joanne and Gregory Parker; grandchildren Bryan, Jason, Julie (Lance) Franklin, and Jamie (Aaron) Krause; great grandchildren Seth, Parker and Finn, and her brother Robert (Diane) Schillaci.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Victor and Alf, husbands Donald and David, and son Thomas.
To honor Florence’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held.
