NEW LYME-Elizabeth “Libby” Ann Mason, 96, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, at the Austinburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Niles, Ohio on December 20, 1928, the daughter of Marshall and Ellen (Cutting) Fobes. Libby graduated from Dorset High School in 1946 and went on to marry James R. “Bob” Mason on January 25, 1947. Together Bob and Libby had five children and worked together on the family’s dairy farm. She also worked for 22 years at Kennametal.
She enjoyed reading, bowling, and dancing - especially Polka dancing. She was a gifted cake decorator and made wedding and special occasion cakes for many people for many years. Libby was proudest of being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.
She survived by her loving family; Her children: Shirley (Tom) Moore, Nancy (John) George, James (Judy) Mason, Howard (Lisa) Mason, and Karen ( Rick Martin) Mason; 18 grandchildren; 21. Great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, who passed away in 1981, her brother Kenneth Fobes, her sister Marjorie Allen and her great grandson Cory George.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Fleming-Billman Funeral Home, 49 W. Jefferson Street, Jefferson, Ohio. Calling hours will be held from 12:00-1:00, And the funeral service will begin at 1:00. Burial will follow in New Lyme Cemetery.
