Eileen M. (Duffy) Kusar

Austinburg - Eileen M. Kusar, 88, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025, at Rae Ann Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 28, 1936, the daughter of Michael and Mae (Levins) Duffy.

Eileen married John E Kusar on June 10, 1961, at Saint Ann’s church in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. They moved to Austinburg in 1968.

She was an elementary school teacher for over 40 years with 35 of those years spent in the Geneva Area School System.  Eileen loved being a teacher. She loved the students she taught like they were her own.

Eileen was a member of United Church of Christ in Austinburg. She was a member and past president of the Geneva chapter of the American Businesswomen’s Association; she was an active member of the American Buffalo Association and was also a 50+ year member of the Grange.

She survived by her loving family; her daughters: Eileen (Owen) Stone of Austinburg, Charlene Giles of Arizona; her son, John A (Ronda) Kusar of Austinburg; her grandchildren: Owen (Abbe) Stone, Rebecca Stone, Joshua Kusar, John Kusar and Tim Palm; and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, John E. Kusar, her brother Michael Duffy, her sister’s: Mary Shaw and Nancy Bremkamp; and her grandson-in-law, Garner Cole

In honor of her wishes, private graveside services will be held.
