Edward Stephen Zuri Jr.

Edward Stephen Zuri, Jr., 56, of Jefferson, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love, on August 8, 2026. He was born on September 8, 1969, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Edward Stephen Zuri, Sr. and Dorothy Zuri. 

Ed loved deeply, worked hard, and never let the challenges he faced define him. He was funny, stubborn, mischievous, generous, and fiercely loyal. He lived life on his own terms and found joy in the people and things he loved. 

Ed had a strong connection to his family and where he came from. He was especially close to his mom and his grandparents in Chardon, and often reminisced about the dinners his mom and grandmother would make. Ed and his brother Joe would still find themselves around a table together, sharing meals and remembering those times fondly. 

In August 2015, after dating for ten years, Ed married Teresa. They had already shared a lot of life together before they said “I do,” and the life they built together was one they both truly loved. Ed worked hard for that life, spending many years on the road to take care of his family. It wasn't always easy, but it was simply what Ed did. 

Ed loved the freedom of a Harley ride with no destination, the sound and power of his Cobra Mustang, and great music. And then there was Ozzy. Ed wasn't about to miss Ozzy's final tour—even if the price of the tickets was something Teresa would prefer not to discuss. 

Ed was a wonderful father to Amanda and Samantha. He loved them deeply and unconditionally, and they never had to wonder about it—he showed them every day. 

Becoming a grandfather brought another kind of joy to Ed. He loved all twelve of his grandchildren, and somehow, each one had a way of feeling like his favorite. He showed up for them, took an interest in what mattered to them, and was genuinely proud of each and every one of them and the strengths that made them who they were. 

Somehow, the Harley guy became the grandpa in the bleachers. He didn't stop being the Harley guy; he just found twelve more reasons to show up. 

Ed was fiercely loyal to the people he cared about, and his friends meant a great deal to him. To them, he was always EZ (“Easy”). Those friendships lasted throughout the years, through busy lives and changing circumstances, and they never seemed to lose their place in Ed's life. He loved them, and they loved him. 

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Zuri; his brother, Joseph Krukowski; his daughters, Amanda (Thomas) Gibson and Samantha (Jim) Hyde; and his grandchildren, LilyAnn, Gavin, Lukas, TJ, Austin, Teagin, Carter, Kayla, Oaklynn, Cole, Seth, and Carina.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Zuri; his father, Edward Stephen Zuri, Sr.; and his grandson, Colt Jaxson Hyde. 

Ed did not need a perfect life to become a good man. He simply needed the people and things he loved enough to fight for. 

And he did. 

That was Ed.

A visitation for friends and family will be held Friday August 14, 2026 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm with a time of sharing to follow at Fleming and Billman Funeral Home, 49 West Jefferson Street, Jefferson Ohio 44047. There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday August 15, 2026 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at Teresa and Ed’s family home located at 398 Plymouth Brick Road, Ashtabula Ohio 44004.
