Dorothy “Jean” Wilber, 89, of Rock Creek, passed away peacefully at home on July 16, 2024, holding her husband’s hand.
Jean was born on July 31, 1934, in Bedford, Ohio; the daughter of Edward and Dorothy (Bates) Knight.
She was the Valedictorian of the 1954 graduating class of Rock Creek High School.
On December 22, 1954, Jean married her high school sweetheart, Robert Wilber. Together they shared sixty-nine wonderful years of marriage and raised five beautiful children. Their love was like no other and was admired by all who knew them.
Jean was known for her kind and thoughtful heart, she was an amazing baker and homemaker who always took care of others. She enjoyed giving gifts to those she loved and always wrote kind notes to the recipients. She was active in 4H and the PTA at Rock Creek when her children were younger.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; her children: Debbie (Kent) Brandeberry, Michael (Tracy) Wilber, Denise (Jeff) Clemson, Alison (Dave) Locy and Lisa Wilber; fifteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; two great, great-grandchildren and her dog, Coco.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her great-granddaughter, Skylar.
In keeping with Jean’s wishes, the family will have a private memorial service for the immediate family.
