Dorothy M. Frohnaple, 89 of Ashtabula died Saturday (Oct. 6th) at the Country Club Retirement Campus. She was born December 11, 1928 at her home in Saybrook Township the daughter of J. Sheldon and Amber (Hendricks) Jenks.
She graduated from Ashtabula High School in the class of 1946. Her senior year she worked part time in the office of Dr. C. J. Streicher. Following that she worked at Lake City Malleable for two years until she went to work for General Tire Chemical from which she retired in 1984.
She enjoyed watching sports especially the Indians and spending 25 winters in Florida during her retirement.
Surviving her are her three step-children, Debra (Kenneth) Severino, David (Judy) Frohnaple and Darcy (Scott) Mosier and the person who was most like a daughter, Debra Friend, a lifelong friend, Marthann Klein-Goshe, nine step grandchildren and thirteen step great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, James Davis, her second, Joseph Frohnaple on August 8, 2018 and a brother, William Jenks.
Funeral service will be Wednesday (Oct. 10th) at 12:00 Noon at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory with Rev. Michael Meranda of the Messiah Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Messiah Lutheran Church, 615 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
