Doris Jenks

Doris (McCarty) Jenks, 90, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Saybrook Landing Nursing Home.

She was born in Ashtabula on May 6, 1932 the daughter of John and Dorothy (Tickner) McCarty. She graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1950. She married John Jenks and spent 66 loving years together until his passing on January 3, 2018.

Doris enjoyed baking, playing cards and traveling in their motorhome. She also loved living in Florida for many years and taking daily walks. She took great pride in keeping a neat and tidy household for her family. She was a member of the Geneva First United Methodist Church, as well, as the Tuesday Morning Bible study.

She is survived by her children, David (Pam) Jenks of Geneva, Kathleen (Alan) McCoy of Dorset, England, Susan (Burt) Brown of Ashtabula, Linda (Gary) Millberg of Madison, her grandchildren, Brenda Brown Hogue, Andrew Millberg, Steven Millberg, Ryan Jenks and Bridget McCoy and seven great-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, John, parents, her siblings, Jane Caruso and Raymond McCarty and her grandson, Robert Brown.

Doris will be deeply missed. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Ashtabula Bella Care.
