Doris J. (Wright) Headley Newman

Doris J. (Wright) Headley Newman, 94, formerly of Geneva, Ohio, passed away on October 9, 2023.

She was born on August 5, 1929, to the late Murthen and Gertrude Wright.

Doris graduated from Austinburg High School.

On November 16, 1948, Doris married Everrett Headley, they shared many wonderful years of marriage and raised four loving children: Nancy, David, Carol and Becky.

Doris was a dedicated member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She worked as a secretary and nursing assistant for many years and was a long-term member of TOPS and KOPS.

She enjoyed: eating healthy, exercising, gardening, flowers, bowling, baking and being out in nature.

She is survived by her loving children: Nancy Baugh, Carol Horan, Becky Stancuff and their families; her sister, Marge Wright; her five grandchildren; her eleven great, grandchildren and one great, great grandson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Everrett Headley; her second husband, James Newman; her son, David; her grandson, Michael; her son-in-law, Ed; her siblings: Winnie McCormick, Betty Goff, Shirley Mahle, Dottie Albany and Paul Wright.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Fleming and Billman Funeral Home, 49 West Jefferson Street in Jefferson, Ohio. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at Eagleville Cemetery in Austinburg.
