Donald Lee Reuschling

Donald Lee Reuschling, 94, a lifelong Jefferson area resident, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, surrounded by Love and his family.

He was born on October 11, 1928, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Fred and Effie (Wagner) Reuschling.

Donald married his beautiful bride, Martha Ahonen on July 16, 1949, at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church; they shared sixty-nine years of wonderful marriage together before Martha’s passing in December of 2018.

After graduating from high school, Donald proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Army.

Donald was employed by Conrail Railroad as an Engineer for forty-three years until his retirement in 1990.

He enjoyed walking, camping, fishing and woodworking.  He was a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Calasanctius Church in Jefferson, Ohio.

Donald is survived by his loving children: Frederick L. (Diane) Reuschling, Michael F. (Wyndy) Reuschling, Diane M. (John) Hill, Cathy A. (Jon) Merz and Donna J. (Greg) Perz, as well as his seven grandchildren and six great, great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his three brothers: Fred L. Reuschling, Richard J. Reuschling and Robert H. Reuschling, and his wife, Martha.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 6:00p-8:00p at Fleming and Billman Funeral Home, 49 West Jefferson Street in Jefferson, Ohio.  Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 12:00p at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, 32 East Jefferson Street in Jefferson. Burial to immediately follow the funeral service at Oakdale Cemetery.
