Dennis “Skip” M. Russell
Dennis M. Russell, 73, of Dorset passed away peacefully August 27, 2022, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born July 16, 1949 in Ashtabula, and was the son of Maurice and Norma (Sparr) Russell. He was a lifetime resident.
Growing up, Dennis had a love of agriculture and farming. He graduated from Jefferson High School and North Carolina State University in agriculture. He was a dairy farmer for 25 years (Russell’s Dairy), and later worked for Sunleaf Nursery in Madison.
Dennis proudly served in the Ohio National Guard for seven years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He loved farming, gardening, bowling, hunting, fishing, and old Western movies.
On August 22, 1970, he married the love of his life, Janice L. Gollon, who survives him. Also surviving is his loving son Chris and family of Dorset; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Joyce Gollon of Pickerington; two nieces, Danielle (Dan) Denney and Renee (Josh) Mason; great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sherri Russell.
Following Dennis’s wishes, no calling hours or funeral will be held. A celebration of his life will take place later this month.
