Dennis Lee Diemer, 84, passed away on June 11, 2024, at Jefferson Healthcare in Jefferson, Ohio.
He was born on November 23, 1939, in Geneva, Ohio, the son of the late John “Bud” R. and Dorothy (Fields) Diemer.
Dennis graduated from Jefferson High School in 1958. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served from1958-1962.
On January 18, 1964, he married Sandra Mead, they shared sixty wonderful years of marriage together.
Dennis worked for the Ashtabula County Highway Department as a truck driver for twenty-eight years before retiring in 2002.
During his retirement he loved helping with lawn maintenance at the JAGS softball fields and attending his many grandchildren’s events and activities. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, supporting the Cleveland Indians and spending time with his family, friends and his best four legged buddy, Franklin.
He is survived by his loving children, Dianna (Eric) Westfall and John Diemer (Ashley Dubiel); his sister, Janet Stecklare (Chuck Gingsburg); his grandchildren: Kayla (Pat) Stands, Chase Stowe (Bionca McCullough), Courtney Stowe, Kadence Diemer and Kenneth Diemer and his cousin, Lenny Schossler, whom he loved like a brother.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Mary Jane (Savage) Diemer and his siblings, Betty Lou Beck and Budd Diemer.
Graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson.
The family would like to thank the staff at Capital Health Home Care for the wonderful care and loving support they not only provided Dennis with but his wife, Sandra as well.
