Dean A. Miller, age 51 of Rome, died unexpectedly Tuesday at his residence of natural causes.
He was born in Ashtabula, Ohio February 24, 1969 to Joe A. and Delores M. (Rodgers) Miller. He was a wonderful son, brother, and uncle. He grew up and spent his entire life in the Jefferson area.
Dean graduated from Jefferson High School in 1987 and attended Hocking Tech for diesel mechanics. He was a kind and caring man that would lend a helping hand whenever needed. He was a talented carpenter, mechanic, and operator. He worked many years for his father and brothers at Miller & Sons Construction. But his passion was welding and fabrication. He had worked at PolyChem the past 6 years, repairing and creating new equipment and machinery.
Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle and four-wheeler riding and western movies. He was an avid crossword puzzle player. He had a love of history, learning about people and places. He enjoyed being around his family. He was loved by his nieces and nephews for talking with them about life lessons or teaching math on a chalkboard.
He was preceded in death by his father Joe in June of this year, his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Dean is survived by his mother, Delores; brothers, Rick (Tina) Miller and Todd (Linda) Miller; sisters Laurie (Robert) Banks, and Lisa Haggar; nieces, Sarah, Jessica, Jennifer, Kirsten, Maddison, and Rhylee; nephews, Ronny, James, Tyller, and Kooper, and 5 great-nephews. He will be sadly missed by all for his wit, humor, and caring attitude.
