David P. Luce, also known as Maya T. Grace, age 44, passed away on January 6, 2026.
Born on March 29, 1981, in Ashtabula, Ohio, David (Maya) was an avid gamer and had a lifelong love for technology. He graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1999 and later enrolled at PTI, where he pursued studies in computer technology.
David (Maya) is survived by many loving family members and friends. He was raised by his grandparents, Margaret (Charles Long) Shipley and Harry Shipley, who raised him as their own child. He is also survived by his mother, Laura Long (Robert Patterson); his very special aunt, Elizabeth “Aunt E” (Keith) Kohl; and additional family including Uncle Douglas (Nicole) Long, Kevin Luce (father), Erik and Sandy Luce, Karen (Carl) Duy, and brothers Kevin Luce Jr. and Craig Luce. His cousins include Chris, Josh, Jackie, Sarah, Becky, Joey, Collin, Taylor, and Benjamin. David (Maya) also leaves behind several close friends, including Todd, Tom, and Dan, as well as many others from Carbondale, Illinois, where he lived and was actively involved in fellowship and the Unitarian Church communities.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a funeral service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. at Fleming & Billman Funeral Home 526 W Prospect Rd Ashtabula, Ohio. David (Maya) will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery, North Kingsville.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family.
