David A. Litwiler, age 77, of Jefferson, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born January 26, 1941 in Andover, the son of Allen C. & Lamontz C. (Hoffman) Litwiler.
He worked passionately for over 55 years restoring antique and classic cars. He was an artist capable of building and repairing anything. He enjoyed model trains and mowing grass. He was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Vintage Automobile Club of America and Jaguar Club. He was a past president of the Jefferson Exchange Club.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christine M. Litwiler, whom he married January 27, 1962; children, Mark A. Litwiler of Jefferson, Wendie M. (Andrew) Lesak of Streetsboro, and Melynda J. Litwiler of Jefferson; sisters, Janet (Frank) Simon of Holiday FL, Roberta Schteiden of Henderson NV, Patricia (Gary) Little of Henderson NV; grandchildren, Alexandria Lesak of Strongsville, Amber (Marc) Dantimo of Stow, Austin and Anna Lesak of Streetsboro, Gretchen, Madeline and Nicolas Litwiler of Jefferson.
He is preceded in death by his parents; twin siblings, Lyle and Lillie in infancy and a sister, Margaret Setzer.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Jefferson United Methodist Church, 125 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson with Pastor Dan Bilkert and Rev. Tom Poremba officiating. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery on a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Jefferson United Methodist Church at the above address or to the United Way of Ashtabula County, 2801 C Ct., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
