Daniel E. Rauckhorst, age 81, S. Ridge Rd. West, Harpersfield Twp., died Wednesday morning at his residence.
He was born January 21, 1939 in Kenmore, OH, the son of Edward H. & Anna E. (Brown) Rauckhorst and has resided in Geneva the past seven years after spending the previous 36 years in Pasadena, TX. Mr. Rauckhorst was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Vietnam Era. Daniel was married to Glennella C. Burkhart on December 14, 1968 in Jefferson.
Daniel was a 1991 retired employee of the Shell Oil Co. He was a member of the Assumption Church in Geneva and his enjoyments included model trains, traveling and watching Western movies. He was an extraordinary man that lived a simple life.
Survivors include three children, Vincent A. (Karla) Rauckhorst, Edward A. Rauckhorst & Emily M. (Daniel) Sanderson, all of Geneva; five grandchildren, Taylor, Jonathan, Matthew & Amber Rauckhorst and Forrest Sanderson and six siblings, Nancy Hackathorn, Mary (Fred) Sherlock, Edward (Debbie) Rauckhorst, James (Diane) Rauckhorst, Susanna (Earl) Tucker & Thomas Rauckhorst.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Glennella in 2018 and two sisters, Patricia Westlake & Judith Shannon.
The funeral mass will be celebrated Monday at 11:00AM at the Assumption Church, 594 W. Main Rd., Geneva with Fr. John Mulqueen officiating. Burial will be in Unionville Cemetery.
