Christopher David Salyers, 47, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at Cleveland University Hospital after a short illness.
Born on September 28, 1978, in Ashtabula, Ohio, Chris was the beloved son of David and Sharon (Bortz) Salyers. A proud member of Jefferson High Schools Class of 1998, he went on to build not just a career—but a reputation founded on integrity, skill, and hard work.
Chris was known by everyone who met him as one of the hardest-working men around. A gifted and talented carpenter, he poured his heart into every project he touched. Through his company, Classic Renovations and Carpentry, he earned the trust and respect of countless clients and friends who admired his attention to detail, his craftsmanship, and his pride in a job well done. There was rarely a day when Chris wasn’t working with his hands, creating something lasting and beautiful.
Above all, Chris was a devoted father. His twin sons, Dustin and Gabriel, were his greatest joy and his proudest accomplishment. He loved spending time outdoors with them—hunting, fishing, or just working side by side. Chris took every opportunity to teach his boys the values that guided his own life: hard work, responsibility, and respect. His love for them shaped everything he did, and he strived every day to be the best dad he could be.
Chris is survived by his sons, Dustin and Gabriel Salyers; his loving companion of nearly 20 years, Julie Sutch; his parents, David and Sharon; his brother, Dewey Salyers; his sister, Michelle Salyers; his nephews, Lucas Guzman and David Salyers; and his niece, Hope Frye.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Conneaut Church of God, 5327 Center Rd., Conneaut, Ohio 44030, with calling hours from 4:00–6:00 p.m. and the service beginning at 6:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Rock Creek Cemetery during a private family service on Saturday.
Chris’s legacy of hard work, love, and loyalty will live on through the family he cherished and the craftsmanship he shared with all who knew him.
