Christine E. Nicholson

Christine Elizabeth Nicholson, 86, passed away peacefully in the comfort and love of her home on July 29, 2026.

Born July 24, 1940, in Geneva, Ohio, Christine was the daughter of Andrew Frank and Maria A. (Cunningham) Pabst.

On April 1, 1957, she married her one and only true love, L. Donald Nicholson. Together, they shared 69 years of marriage—a remarkable life together filled with love, devotion, happiness, and countless precious memories.

Above all else, Christine’s life was devoted to her family. Her greatest joy and deepest source of pride were her husband and children. She was a loving, caring, and devoted wife and mother whose steadfast love helped create a home filled with warmth, security, and cherished traditions. Her family was the center of her world, and she took tremendous pride in each of them.

Christine expressed her love in the many thoughtful ways she cared for those around her. She enjoyed cooking, canning, and baking for her family, as well as tending to the yard—especially when she was able to get on her riding mower. She also treasured family travel, often taking as many as four trips each year to Maine with her family, creating memories her loved ones will carry with them always.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Donald; her children, Cheryl (James) Perry, Betty (Keith) Peachey, and Donald “Donnie” Nicholson; and her sister, Irene. Christine was the youngest of 14children.  

She was preceded in death by her daughter Cindy Denise Kangas, who passed away on September 20, 2023.

In keeping with Christine’s wishes, no public services will be held.
