Cheryl Kay McLaren, 73 of Ashtabula, OH went to her heavenly home on January 22, 2024. She was born on August 26, 1950 in Geneva, OH to Charles and Georgianna Fowler.
Her occupation and passion was serving as a registered nurse for over 40 years. The majority of those years she worked in ICU at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Her faith was important to her. She volunteered in many areas as a member of Saybrook Methodist Church. She served as Jr. Church teacher, lay pastor in local nursing homes, and various community events, including the annual strawberry festival. She participated in numerous mission trips to Honduras through the World Gospel Mission organization.
She is survived by a sister, Charlene (Vernon) Hopkins, a brother, Roland (Apryl) Fowler, sister-in-law, Deborah Fowler, step-mother, Lois Fowler. Nieces, Julie Fuller, Sherrin (Mark) DiBell, Tabitha (Nathaniel) Wooldridge, Tiffany Fowler; Nephews, Richard Hopkins, Caleb Fowler, Elijah (Kari) Fowler, Ryan Fowler and Bryce Fowler as well as great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Georgianna Fowler; her father, Charles Fowler and her brother, William Fowler.
The family will receive friends at a visitation on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Saybrook Methodist Church, 7900 Depot Road, Ashtabula, OH with the celebration of life immediately following at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Vernon Paylo officiating. Interment will be in the Saybrook Cemetery.
