Charlotte Williams Obituary

Charlotte B. “Char” (Bishop) Williams, of Jefferson, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, just four days shy of her 99th birthday. Born on February 13, 1927, in Beaver Center, Pennsylvania, Charlotte lived a long and meaningful life marked by dedication to family, community, and service.

Charlotte was the daughter of Howard and Lucy (Fox) Bishop. She grew up in a close-knit family and carried the values instilled in her throughout her life. After completing her education at Pierpont High School in Pierpont, Ohio, she went on to serve as librarian at Pierpont Elementary School. Her work there reflected her love for learning and her commitment to nurturing young minds.

She married Floyd S. Williams, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage until his passing in 1997. together they built a life filled with love and adventure. One of their greatest joys was traveling across the country with their Airstream trailer alongside friends from their trailer club. These journeys created cherished memories that remained close to charlotte’s heart.

Charlotte was a member of the Pierpont Presbyterian Church for many years, finding strength and fellowship within its congregation. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life. A proud and active member of the Eastern Star for an extraordinary 72 years, Charlotte belonged to the Covered Bridge Chapter #591. Her longstanding involvement reflected her deep sense of community and commitment to service.

Charlotte’s legacy lives on through her loving family: sons Kevin (Peggy) C. Williams and Tracy (Heather) K. Williams; grandchildren: Michael (Cheri) S. Williams, Kyle (Nicole) M. Williams, Wayne (Toni) Cooper, Josh (Rose) Williams, and Amanda (David) Robson; Eight great-grandchildren; her brother Frank Bishop; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Floyd; her parents Howard and Lucy Bishop; siblings: Stanley Bishop (KIA in WWII), Merwin Bishop, Richard Bishop, and Charlene (Bishop) Morrison.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm with funeral service to follow at 1:00pm at Fleming & Billman Funeral Home 526 W. Prospect Rd Ashtabula, Ohio. Brief service will be observed at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, 3140 E. Center St., N. Kingsville, Ohio in the Mausoleum.

Charlotte’s family would like to thank all the staff at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, especially C-wing, and Reserve Care (formerly Hospice of the Western Reserve) for the outstanding care Charlotte received.
