Charlotte Bell, 71, passed away on January 7, 2023 at the Geneva Nursing and Rehab Center following a long illness.
She was born on December 4, 1951, in Salisbury, Maryland, the daughter of William and Barbara (Bilovesky) Furbush.
Charlotte graduated from Newark High School and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from The Ohio State University and earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University.
On December 18, 1971, in Hocking Hills, Charlotte became the bride of Edward Bell and has been blessed with fifty-one wonderful years of marriage, a son, grandchildren, and a lifetime of beautiful family memories.
Charlotte was a social worker for Mahoning County for 27 years. She retired in 1997 and moved to Ashtabula. Charlotte preferred to remain active in her retirement, she enjoyed trail hiking, walking the beaches of Lake Erie and being a member of the YMCA. She also enjoyed genealogy research, participating in local book clubs and quilting. Charlotte will be fondly remembered and truly missed by her many friends throughout the community.
She is survived by her loving family: her husband Edward; her son Jason; her grandchildren: Xeriah Knyght, Emerald Sequoia Bell and Lillian Bell.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In honor of her wishes no public services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ashtabula YMCA.
