Charles “Chuck” Robert Eddy, Sr., 72, passed away in his home on November 6, 2021 with family by his side.
He was born on February 10, 1949 in Painesville, Ohio, the son of William and Beatrice (Bates) Eddy.
Chuck graduated from Mentor High School in 1967. He married the love of his life, Judy Walker on March 18, 1967 and recently they celebrated 54 years of marriage.
Shortly after graduating high school, he became a plumber and welder. Chuck dedicated 53 years to his trade. He was extremely dedicated to his business, C.Y.A. Plumbing. He was a proud member of the Cleveland Plumbers Local #55.
Chuck had many interests and hobbies: he enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, golfing and traveling to visit historical United States landmarks. He was a loyal OSU and Cleveland Browns football fan, he volunteered as a Coach for midget football and is a member of the Football Hall of Fame at Mentor High School. Chuck was a very proud of his family; proud of his children and their hard work and the fact that they all served our country in the armed forces; his grandchildren brought he and Judy so much happiness to their lives; but he was proudest of his 54 years of marriage to his best friend and the love of his life. He worked hard every day to provide for the family he loved.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Eddy, his children: Chuck (Tracy) Eddy Jr. of Texas, Cristie (Jeff) Adams of Thompson, Ohio and Chad (Maria) Eddy of Wickliffe, Ohio, his adoring grandchildren: Haley, Travis, Kayci, Spencer, Alyssa, Jazmyn and Ezekiel, six great-grandchildren and his sister, Gayle Horrigan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bill Eddy and his uncle, Joel Eddy.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5:00-7:00 at Fleming-Billman Funeral Home, 49 W. Jefferson Street, Jefferson. Funeral service will be held on Saturday morning at 10:00 am with burial to follow in Ray’s Corner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Southern Care Hospice in his name, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
