Carol O'Donnell Obituary

ROAMING SHORES- Carol Ann (Wallace) O’Donnell, 80, passed away very peacefully in her home on Thursday morning February 2, 2023.

Carol was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 20, 1942 the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Grusky) Wallace.

She graduated from Parma High School in 1961 and went on to further her education at Fenn College (C.S.U.).  In 1962 she was introduced to Alan S. O’Donnell, a young man who had just finished serving his country in the US Army; knowing that he was the man she would spend the rest of her life with, on October 26, 1963, they were married at St. Leo’s Catholic Church.  And she was right; God blessed her with 59 years of marriage to the most loving and devoted husband a wife could ever have, four wonderful children that made her so very proud, who went on to give her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  But most importantly she leaves behind a lifetime of the incredible and priceless memories that they made together as a family.

She served as the head librarian at Rock Creek Public Library, dedicating nearly 30 years to a job she loved; after retirement she served on the Library Board of Directors.   She was a dedicated member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rock Creek, and was a member of their Alter & Rosary Society.  She loved reading, puzzles, playing cards, board games, and boating.  She also loved to travel, especially her trips to Alaska and Hawaii, as well as winters in Florida.

She is survived by her loving family: her husband Alan; her children: Michael (Michelle) O’Donnell, Matthew (Barbara) O’Donnell, Mary (Don) Libertowski and Megan (Jason) Sroka; her grandchildren: Skyler (Felica), Talitha (Dan), Nathan (Angelica), Kevin, Justin, Kayla, Zachary and Melody; her great-grandchildren: Isreal, Hezekiah, Moses, Isabella and Thane; her brother Richard (Mary) Wallace; and a special niece Tangerine (Tony), and their daughters Amora and Lila.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Kenneth Wallace and Susan David.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 10th at 12:00 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3049 OH-45, Rock Creek, Ohio.  Calling hours will also be held at the church two hours prior to the Mass from 10:00-12:00.  A luncheon will immediately follow the Mass at the church.

Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Sacred Heart Church or Rock Creek Public Library.
