Carol Ann Long, 82, passed away on May 16th, 2023, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born on August 21st, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Irvin and Vivian (Dickoff) Drum.
On February 27th, 1960, Carol married Thomas Long, they shared sixty-three years of wonderful marriage together before his passing in March of 2023.
One of Carol’s very first jobs was being a Personal Shopper for the luxury department store, Bonwit Teller. Carol was a homemaker who took great pride in creating and maintaining a beautiful home where Tom and she raised their two children together. When her children were grown she worked at Sparkle Market in the meat department and as a cashier for Thornes Bilo.
Carol was a member of the Andover and Jefferson Local Quilting Group where she made some beautiful quilts over the years.
She enjoyed shopping, quilting, tending to her flowers and house plants. Carol was a people-person who truly enjoyed meeting new people and socializing; but her greatest source of joy and happiness was being able to help raise her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children, Debbi (Charlie) Lynagh and Lynn (Randy) Reeve; her grandchildren: Chad Lynagh, Cari (Colton) Braden, Tom Reeve and Christa (Matt) Kempinski; her great-grandchildren, Clayton and Audrey Kempinski; and her niece, Teresa Cross.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tom Long and her sister, Jeannie Cross.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 21st, 2023, from 4:00p-6:00p at Fleming and Billman Funeral Home, 49 West Jefferson Street in Jefferson, Ohio. Graveside service and burial to take place on Monday, May 22nd, 2023, at 11:00a at Brownville Cemetery in New Lyme, Ohio.
