Calvin Lewis Obituary

Calvin Lester Lewis, age 70, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025.

He was born on August 25, 1955, to Melvin Lester and Alice Virginia (Gillespie) Lewis. On April 25, 1987, Calvin married the love of his life, Colleen A. Bovee. Together, they built a life centered around faith, family, and service.

Calvin was a devoted member of Kingsville Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon and was deeply involved in the church community. Alongside his wife, he helped with Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Easter breakfasts, and many other church activities. Calvin and his family were also active in the ministry group Clowns for Christ, spreading joy and God's love through laughter with their dear friend Mark Baker.

An avid outdoorsman, Calvin found peace in nature. He loved hunting, trapping, hiking, camping, and simply spending time in God’s creation. He had a passion for woodworking and dabbled in photography. He enjoyed farming and cherished time spent with family and friends on day trips, outdoor adventures, or around the dinner table. Calvin was proud of his 22-year career at Ken Forging, where he worked as a hammer operator before retiring.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Colleen Lewis; their children: Christopher G. Lewis, Kenton M. (Charlene) Lewis, and Patience M. (Joseph) Culshawl; five grandchildren: Jonathon, Destinee, Kera, Brooke, and Raiden; and two great-grandchildren: Jacob and Luna. He is also survived by extended family: Virginia (Paul) Buser, Kimberly (Rodney) Widger, Emilia, Adaline, Sara Lewis Hassell, Hanna (Jeremy) Young, and Ian Hassell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Alice Lewis; his brother, Melvin Lewis; his grandparents; a grandson, Cory Michael; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Calvin’s life was a testament to faith, love, and dedication. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Calvin will be laid to rest at Lulu Falls Cemetery following private family service.
