Brian Workman Obituary

Brian Michael Workman

Oct 29 1986 – Mar 15 2021

Brian Michael Workman, age 34, of Jefferson passed peacefully at home on Monday, Mar 15, surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer.  Brian was born on Oct 29, 1986, at Cannon AFB New Mexico, son of Jeff and Patty (Walker) Workman.

A graduate of Jefferson Area High School/Ashtabula County Tech And Career Campus, and Lakeland Community College, Brian also proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard, was the Sporting Goods Department Manager at Walmart of Ashtabula #2359, and a member of the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene. Filled with a big heart, Brian was friend to many at Walmart and his church, always willing to lend a helpful hand and a caring shoulder to lean on.

Brian was an avid gardener, hunter, trapper and fisherman.  He spent as much time as possible in the outdoors and on Lake Erie with his family and friends.  Brian spent much of his younger years in Yorktown, Virginia, and was very active in baseball, basketball, soccer, and karate.  He moved with his family to Jefferson OH in 2003 where he later married the love of his life, Jennifer (Harbaugh) on 23 Sep 2017.  Brian was a huge StarWars, science fiction, and history fan, and a military aficionado.  He and Jennifer loved to spend time watching NASCAR, baseball, basketball, hockey, and, especially football on TV; Brian a Browns fan and Jen a Steelers fan.  This led to much friendly ribbing between them.  He will be lovingly remembered for his infectious smile, a witty sense of humor, and the kindness and respect he showed to everyone he met.  Friends wrote: “He was truly one of the good guys!” and “brave and the nicest guy anyone could ever know.”  You couldn’t ask for a better description of Brian.

Brian and Jen wanted to thank their loving and devoted families, their outstanding friends and management at Ashtabula Walmart, and Pastor Curtis and the wonderful folks at Jefferson Nazarene for their amazing love and support during his years fighting his brain tumor.

Brian is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his brother Mark; his parents Jeff and Patty; Grandma’s Ann Workman and Barbara Walker; Uncle John Workman; and, Aunt Rosemary and Uncle Jeff Hope.  Brian was preceded in death by his Grandpa Harry Workman and Aunt Diane (John) Workman.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Fleming & Billman Funeral Home, 49 West Jefferson Street, Jefferson OH 44047.  Calling hours will be held 10:00 A.M.-12:00 pm, Saturday, 20 Mar 2021, followed by a short Service.
