Beverly Jean Balog, 93 of Ashtabula, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday,
September 2, at the ACNRC with her daughter at her side. She was born May 10, 1929 in Ashtabula, OH,
the daughter of Gilbert and Dorothy Oles.
Her faith and service at church was an important part of her life. She played piano and sang in a ladies’
trio at First Grace Gospel Church. She served many years in the nursery at the Federated Church, and for
over 20 years loved being part of Bible Baptist Church.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting, and made many beautiful things. She loved spending time
with her family, and was a loving and faithful caregiver to her mother and her husband until their
passing.
Surviving Jean are two children, Carol (Dan) Adams of Cuyahoga Falls, and Lonnie Balog of Kentucky;
four grandchildren, David Balog, Jennifer (Russ) Tinkham, Kathleen (Jim) Malone, and Emily (Chris)
Noatch; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 68
years, Thomas R. Balog, and a son, Charles Balog.
A private family service was held at the Fleming & Billman Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Greg Cole of
Bible Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Edgewood cemetery.
