Barbara Sue Walker

Barbara Sue Walker, age 85, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully at Austinburg Nursing Home, in Austinburg, Ohio on Friday, January 26, 2024, following a long illness.

Barb was born on May 3, 1938, in Johnstown, Ohio to the late Dean and Velma (Hoover) Ashbrook.

A graduate of Johnstown High School, Barb worked for many years at Johnstown Tech Rubber Company.

She enjoyed reading and spending time with her friends and family. Barb had a special place in her heart for her children and grandchildren, and for animals, especially her cats and dogs. She will be lovingly remembered for her infectious smile, a witty sense of humor, and the kindness and respect she showed to everyone she met.

Barb is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Tim) Stump of Toledo, Patty (Jeff) Workman of Jefferson and Kelly Ashbrook of Mt Vernon; grandchildren Mark Workman, and LaTosha Burge; sister-in-law Saundra Ashbrook; and several nephews, nieces, and great grandchildren.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Richard Ashbrook and Perry Ashbrook; and grandson Brian Workman. A private graveside service and burial will be held at Trumbull Cemetery in Trumbull, OH, officiated by Pastor Curtis Cecil, of Jefferson Church of the Nazarene.

The Fleming Billman Funeral Home of Jefferson is assisting the family with final arrangements.
