Barbara Lynn Crisman-Hudak, 62, was tragically killed in an accident in Georgia by a drunk driver on September 30, 2023.
She was born on July 16, 1961, in Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Larry P. and Linda Mae (Jenkins) Fluegel.
Barbara proudly served her country by enlisting in the United States Army.
She was employed presently as a Security Guard at Presque Isle Downs & Casino as well as being employed as a manager at Wendy’s for the past three years, prior to that she worked for Verizon’s Corporate Office for fifteen years and other various industries.
Barbara was the Chairman of the Veteran’s Day Parade and a member of the Erie County DAV; she truly loved her country.
She was adventurous and loved the outdoors; especially kayaking and zip lining. She also enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, doing puzzles and diamond art. Barbara's greatest source of happiness and joy was spending time with her beloved family; she especially loved being "Nana" to her thirteen grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her parents, her loving children, Jessica (Andrew) Wiser and Johnathan (Jennifer) Crisman; her beloved grandchildren: Brenden, KaLynn, Alexander, Jaxson, GraceLynn, Dominick, Constance, Connor, Vanity, Dante, Christian, Sophia and Oliver; her sister, Cynthia (Larry) Swayze; her paternal half-siblings: Timothy, Scott, Patrick, Justin, Mark (Megan), Andrew and Abigail; and her maternal half-siblings: Sandra (Eddie) Malenecki, Suzanne Marie Balsiger, Lisa Azevedo, Laura (Adalberto) Ruize and Michael (Ala) Azevedo.
She is preceded in death by her step-father, Tony Azevedo and her step-mother, Rebecca Fluegel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2701 East Avenue in Erie, Pennsylvania. Military Honors will immediately follow the service. Barbara will be laid to rest at a later date in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania.
