JEFFERSON-Barbara Ann Chandler, 76, passed away on December 22, 2024, at her daughter’s home following a short battle with cancer. Her entire family was by her side when she passed, which brought her great peace knowing they were all there.
She was born on September 6, 1948, in her grandmother’s home in Big Rock, Virginia, the daughter of William F. and Lillian (Wilson) Spicer.
Barbara was someone who truly loved life. She enjoyed doing so many things; she loved ceramics, playing cards, and going to casinos. On of her favorite activities was buying and selling antiques. She was a highly rated seller on eBay, and she owned “Back-in-Time Antiques”. While her hobbies were fun and enjoyable, it was her family that gave her the greatest joy in life. Family was everything to Barb; her unconditional love and support as well as the immeasurable amount of pride she had for her children, grandchildren and siblings was second to none.
Barbara also felt very blessed to have been married to Dan Chandler for 35 years. He truly was “the love of her life” as she often referred to him as. She may have only had 35 years with him, but together they made a lifetime of memories. Dan passed away on April 28, 2021.
She is survived by her loving family; her children: Tracy (Keith) Stowers and Lloyd (Amber) Brown; her grandchildren: Adam Chandler, Justin (Brooke) Stowers, Cory (Freya) Brown, Emily Stowers, Lauren Ania, Morgan Campbell and Abigail Anderson; her great-grandchildren Sophia and Julia Stowers; her sisters: Brenda Locke and Sally (John) Stevenson; as well as many nieces and nephews, who all had a very special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dan Chandler, her stepfather Calvin Hatch and her stepson Greg Chandler.
In honor of her own personal wishes no public funeral services will be held.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Hospice of the Western Reserve, the Jefferson Rescue Squad or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
