A. Joanna Jepson
Aseimo Joanna Jepson, 96, passed peacefully on December 26, 2022. After spending one last Christmas with her children by her side, she was reunited in heaven with her husband, Warren, after being apart for 24 years.
Joanna was born April 8, 1926, in Ashtabula, the daughter of John and Dorothy (Fee) Efantis. She was a 1944 graduate of Ashtabula High School and completed her business degree at Dyke College in Cleveland.
On July 24, 1948, she married Warren E. Jepson. After spending twelve years in Parkersburg, W. V and Findlay, OH, the couple returned to their hometown to open one of Ashtabula County’s long-standing family-owned businesses. Joanna was proud to be the “J” of J and W Paint Company. She also spent 25 years in the shipping department at Union Carbide.
Joanna was a member of East Side Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder and deaconess as well as being an active member of the Knitting Club. She belonged to the Friendly Quilters Guild and enjoyed her golfing and bowling leagues.
She is survived by her children: Karen (Ralph, deceased) Rose, Sara (Bob) Wetzel, Beth Jepson, and Alan (Judy) Jepson. “Yia Yia” is also survived by five grandchildren: Molly Rose, Jeffrey (Kelly) Rose, Courtney Wetzel, Allyce (Bryce) McKenney, and Andrew (Nicole) Jepson; seven great- grandchildren: Lucas, James, Abigail Rose; Benjamin, Chloe, Amilya McKenney, Jeffrey Jepson, her sister Elaine Robinson and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Warren in 1998, her parents, her brother Constantine Efantis, and her son-in-law Ralph Rose.
Visiting hours will be at Fleming and Billman Funeral Home, 526 West Prospect, from 4-6 on Friday, Jan. 6. Visitation at 10:00 will precede the 11:00 service on Saturday, Jan. 7 at East Side Presbyterian Church, 3440 Edgewood Drive.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to East Side Presbyterian Church or the American Heart Association.
