William J. Mann, Jr., age 51 of Dorset, died unexpectedly Saturday evening in the emergency room at the Ashtabula Co. Medical Center.
He was born December 28, 1967 in Ashtabula, the son of William J. & Joyce M. (Taggart) Mann, Sr. and has resided in this area all of his life. Bill was a 1986 graduate of Jefferson Area High School. He has been disabled since 1991. Bill spent much of his time at Gordy’s Gardens in Dorset, helping with anything he could.
Bill was an avid sports fan, especially NASCAR and racing, visiting most of the local tracks, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his son, William J. (Maggie) Mann, III of Pt. Pleasant, WV; a granddaughter, Grace Ann; his mother, Joyce M. Mann of Dorset Twp. and a sister, Robin S. (Craig) Pavolko of Dorset Twp. His father and grandparents preceded him in death.
The family requests anyone attending services on Saturday, wear your favorite Steelers, OSU or NASCAR sports attire.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1:30 PM at Dorset Cemetery with Pastor Larry Carr officiating. No calling hours will be observed.
