Virginia L. (Jamison) Bilicic

 Virginia Leigh Bilicic, 72, a lifelong resident of Geneva, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 15th.  Born on June 24th  1947, the second child of William and Alberta (Thompson) Jamison, “Ginny” lived a full and active life of service.

As a young girl, Ginny delighted her parents and family members with her tap-dancing ability—a skill she would employ later in life….  She was a proud student of Spencer Elementary school and went on to graduate from Geneva High School in 1965.

An interest in hair-care moved her to attend a beautician school in Columbus. After graduation, she returned to Geneva and was employed by the Colonial Beauty Salon.  In due course, she purchased and operated this business which meant so much to her.  About this time, a young and dashing man entered her life and swept her off her feet.  Ginny and Ed Bilicic were married on December 27, 1969 and recently celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary.

One of Ginny’s life-long passions was baking.  For a number of years she owned and operated the Tin Bin in Geneva specializing in candy making and cake decorating.  But by this time, her family was growing in number thus requiring her to juggle multiple tasks almost simultaneously—a trait which would become a hallmark for her.

As a wife, and more importantly to Ginny, a mother, she selflessly devoted her spare time to raising and helping to provide for her five children.  From Little League to the Geneva Vikings, from family events to community commitments, Ginny seemed to be everywhere serving others.

Eventually, Ginny gravitated toward large scale baking and could be seen at Golden Dawn and, later, Giant Eagle.  As her children grew up, married, and had children of their own, Ginny’s interests shifted once more.  Retiring in 2018, she became the go-to babysitter for her grandchildren—a passion for which she was well-known.

In her spare time, Ginny enjoyed “dancing” with the Blue-Bells in various parades and venues.  She learned Spencerian Penmanship and became quite skilled in this technique.  But above all else, Virginia loved her family, her friends, and her community.  Her mark was made on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, “Bill” and Alberta and a brother, William Jamison Jr.

She leaves behind her husband, Edward, and five loving children: Timothy (Painesville), Stacey (Ashtabula), Melissa Juncker (San Francisco), Jeffrey (Sarah) of Perry, and Jonathon (Heather) of Chardon. She was a doting Grandmother to ten including Nicholas, Mason, Alexandra, twins Aiden and Arianna, Spencer, twins Gavin and Grace, Elliott, and Eva. 

Ginny will also be dearly missed by her siblings Thomas (Linda) Jamison (Hartland, WI), Kenneth Jamison (Los Angeles), Betty (Tom) Olsen (Mechanicsburg, PA), Nancy (John) Patterson (Jefferson), and Margie Jamison (Painesville).  Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members share in the loss of this special person.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 20th, from 6-8 PM at the Fleming & Billman Funeral Home, 323 S. Broadway, Geneva.  Services will occur at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 21st at 11 AM with the Rev. Doug Winner, Jefferson UMC, officiating.
