Verl Eloise Grady, Sr

Verl E. Grady, Sr., age 59 of Ashtabula, died early Saturday morning, 11/10/18 at the Austinburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born April 2, 1959 in Monroe, NC, the son of the late George & Mildred (Barnes) Grady and has been a resident of Ashtabula Co. most of his life, moving here from Washington, DC in 1970.  Verl was a 40-year employee of Molded Fiberglass.  He was married to Gabriela Ponce on July 8, 2013 in Pennsylvania.

Verl was a member of the Jefferson Community Church of God in Christ.  His enjoyments included cooking, barbecuing, doing yard work, gardening, holiday decorating, keeping his car in nice condition and family gatherings and time together.

Survivors include his wife, Gabriela; three children, LaTreice R. Grady of Reynoldsburg, Verl E. Grady, Jr. & Myriam A. Grady, both of Ashtabula; seven grandchildren, Amariana, Amir, Amyah, Amyiiah, Anthony, Amilliana & Zion and three siblings, Calvin G. Flippen of Lockport, NY, Deidre M. Flippen of Washington, DC & George W. (Andrea) Grady of Jefferson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12:00 PM at the New Hope Church of God in Christ, 4313 West Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Emory Moore officiating.

Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM prior to the service.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the family, in care of Gabriela Grady at the funeral home address.  The Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W.
