Shirley J. (Wise) Lenart

Shirley J. Lenart, 91 of Saybrook Township died Saturday (July 21st) at University Hospitals of Geneva Medical Center. She was born February 24, 1927 in Ashtabula the daughter of Howard and Florence (Davis) Wise.

She was a 1945 graduate of Jefferson High School. She was a long distance operator for Ohio Bell and also worked for Sears Department Store in the Hardware department.

She was a member of Harris Memorial Presbyterian Church for over fifty years and an active member of the Golden Circle at the church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and loved going to Kardohely’s Restaurant. She and her family loved family vacations and always had a family dog.

Surviving her are two children, Linda (Rick Riggleman) Martone of Ashtabula and John Lenart, Jr of Saybrook Township; three grandchildren, Cheri Wayand, Eugene (Jessica) Martone, Jr. and Steven (Rosalynn) Martone; seven great grandchildren, Alexis, Emilee, Makayla, Annaliese, Eugene III, Darrin and Allayna; two sisters, Arleta Deitz of Ashtabula, Verna Osburn of Kelloggsville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John L. Lenart, SR in 2014 and by a sister, Betty Huey.

Funeral service will be Thursday (July 26th) at 11:00 AM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula, Ohio with Rev. Robert Leonard of the Hartsgrove Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Saybrook Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Rd. Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
