Robert A. McKee

Robert Arthur McKee died on June 29 from a heart attack suffered on June 15th. Bobby was born October 3, 1968. He was 49 years old. 

He is survived by his mom, Isabel McKee, Ashtabula, and brothers, Jim McKee, North Canton, and John McKee, North Carolina, and nephew, John, and nieces, Hannah, Kelsee, and Kaylee (Lulu) McKee.  Also surviving are Aunt Caroline, Uncle Charles and Aunt Pat, Aunt Grace and Uncle Dave, and Aunt Janet, and many cousins whom he adored, and whom adored him. 

He was preceded by dad, James McKee Sr. on July 17th, 2014. 

Dad used to say he had 3 sons and they were all individuals.  Bobby was his own man, did things his way, suffered the consequences and celebrated the triumphs which have left his family and friends with the most amazing stories.  Bobby grew up in Ashtabula and loved it.  He moved to Akron and loved it. He lived in Houston, New Orleans, and finally settled in Pensacola where he died.  Bobby was a very generous person. Dozens of people have stepped forward to say Bobby saved them at their darkest hour.  Whether you needed a ride, groceries, a helping hand, a listening ear, or a place to stay, Bobby never said no. He was a free spirit. He loved everyone and found the good in everyone.  His reward was satisfaction in helping others. He would travel home almost monthly to see his family.  He was an organ donor and his skin will help burn victims. His perfect eyes will help restore someone’s vision.  He gave all he had to make his world better. He succeeded!  Bobby loved his hometown and the AHS Class of 1986.  He had planned to help the ‘I’m In Amazing Ashtabula’ group and had offered to write a check. He loved seeing pride return to his hometown. The family asks memorials be made to ADDA, memo: Amazing Ashtabula. This provides funds for volunteer projects in the community. 

Graveside services for Bobby will be held at Ridgeview Cemetery, Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:30 A. M. with celebrant Alisa Nierzejewski officiating.  The Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula are honored to serve the Robert A.
