Ralph Lynn Fassett, 83 of Saybook Township passed away on Sunday (Dec. 2nd) at University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center. He was born April 8, 1935 in Ashtabula the son of Emer James and Grace (Edson) Fassett.
He was married to the love of his life, Shirley A. Fassett, for 64 years.
Ralph loved to fish, watch football and car racing on TV and read books.
He owned a car body shop for a while, had a corvette and a car lot. He also worked selling baked goods from a truck for Star Bakery in Madison, Ohio. He was a cub scout Master for a pack in Saybrook Township and sold keys and key machines for Curtis Keys in years past.
He retired as an electrician from Occidental Chemical Corp on State Rd in Ashtabula, Ohio.
Surviving him is his wife Shirley whom he married October 31, 1954; three children, Jeanette (Preston) Hess of Poland, Ohio, James R. (Cathy) Fassett of Rome, Ohio and Jerry L. (Della) Fassett of Radcliff, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Michael, Tiffany, Eric, Meghan, Michelle, Morgan, Lauren and Allison and 11 great grandchildren.
Private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Saybrook Township Volunteer Fire Department, 5714 North Ridge Rd. West, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
