Paul A. Miller, 74 of Ashtabula died Wednesday (Dec. 18th) at Hillcrest Hospital in Cleveland. He was born January 22, 1945 in Ashtabula the son of Donald and Mary (Wolf) Miller and has been a lifetime area resident.
He was a 1963 graduate of Ashtabula High School. He attended Ohio State University and Kent State University.He then joined his father at D H Miller and Son Greenhouse in Ashtabula until 1984. He spent some time working for Mikkelsen’s Greenhouse and Northeast Box Company. Following retirement he enjoyed his time working at Walmart.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and bee keeping. He enjoyed refereeing high school basketball which he did for the Northeast Ohio Conference for 15 years. He was an avid fan of Indy Car Racing and attended the Indy 500 for the last 25 years. He attended the First Covenant Church in Ashtabula.
Surviving him is his wife Shauna (McCollum) Miller, whom he married March 21, 1971; three daughters, Heather (Dale) Simpkins of Kinsman, Laurel (Richard Rogers) Miller of Ft. Hood, Texas and Rochelle (Bruce) Masteller of Newport News, Virginia; five amazing grandchildren, Ethan, Lillianna, Grace, Harrison and Richy, and a sister, Cathy Elizabeth Miller of Erie, Pa. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Melvin Miller in childhood.
Funeral service will be Monday (December 23rd) at 11:00 am at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd.Ashtabula with Rev. Bruce Wyand of the First Covenant Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson.
