Patricia “Patty” A. Kapen, age 66 of Nathan Dr., Ashtabula died at her residence on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. She was born on April 20, 1951 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Joseph & Mildred (Benetka) Kapen.
She has been a lifelong resident of Ashtabula County. She and her mother were the first members of Happy Hearts School in the 1950’s. She worked for Ashcraft and then later went on to work for Greenlight Workforce LLC where she was known as “Half Pint” and retired in 2016. She loved the Cleveland Indians, listening to music and playing with her dog. She was also involved in the Covered Bridge Committee under Betty Morrison influence.
She is survived by her sisters, Marion B. Peck and Beverly J. (Jim) Anthony both of Sheffield Twp.; nieces and nephews, Dana Anthony of Sheffield Twp., Diana Henslee of Geneva, Julie Kruger of Parma, Jenna Bennett of Sheffield Twp.; great nieces and nephew, Brittany, Danielle and A. J. Henslee of Geneva, all of whom she loved very much.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Bill Peck.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 at 10:00 A. M. at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with Fr. John Ettinger of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church officiating. Burial will take place in Gageville Cemetery.
Visitation will take place from 9:00-10:00 A. M. prior to the funeral service at the Jefferson funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Greenlight Workforce, 1440 W. Prospect Rd., Ash., Ohio 44004. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
