Opal Marie (Winn) Roberts

Opal M. Roberts, age 98, longtime Dorset Twp. resident, died Saturday afternoon, 8/31/19 at the Villa on the Lake in Conneaut.

She was born September 18, 1920 in Philo, the daughter of Eldon E. & Blanche C. (Baughman) Winn and has resided in this area since 1944, coming from Warren.  Opal married Russell L. Roberts on June 5, 1940 in Zanesville.

Opal was a past member of the Sweet Adeline’s and the Schubert Club.  She was an avid Bunco player and violin player.  She was always a kid at heart, loved sled riding, was skateboarding after her 80th birthday and fell and broke both wrists and loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, Jean M. Daugherty of Warren, PA, Carol A. (Dick) Bartle of Jefferson & Chris L. (Suzanne) Roberts of Sun City, AZ; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Her parents; her husband, Russell; a brother, Earl Winn and a sister, Virginia Corder all preceded her in death.
